Support programme

The participants of our programme should meet the following requirements:

• They are refugees.
• They meet some requirements for studies and have good German language skills (B2).
• They intend to start studying or training in Switzerland within one to a maximum of two years.

We accept new participants once a year. During the application period - usually in December and January - interested parties can apply to our support programme. After they have completed a comprehensive questionnaire, we contact them for a personal interview.

The selection process is used to find out whether the applicants fit into our programme and what their qualifications and motivation are. Here you can find more information on the application process and here you can find the application form.

Our program consists of three elements:

Individual mentoring  

Each mentee is assigned a student mentor who supports them on the path to their education and to overcome cultural, administrative and structural hurdles together.

Thanks to regular meetings (at least every six weeks), a familiar and reliable mentoring relationship is established. Mentees as well as mentors receive professional training at the beginning of the support programme.

Networking and skills  

In addition to the meetings in pairs, regular networking events take place among the mentees and the supporters. This builds up a network in the university sector, which benefits the mentees during the application process and beyond.

In workshops, mentees can also learn specific skills such as how to write a resume, successful job interviews, or IT skills.

Situational financial support  

SEET is supported by foundations, membership fees, and private donors. Each year, we provide an amount for each mentee to overcome financial hurdles on the path to their education. The amount is paid according to individual consideration in each case.
